Happy new year everyone! I started off my 2020 with a garfish at Bedok Jetty in East Coast Park and it sparked my thirst for more top water action.

I decided to use Palms BitArts Degree, a sinking minnow weighing only 5.3 grams and 50mm in length. I used red gold and made a cast while maintaining its depth at top water to max 30cm deep.
I used a variety of jerking actions, while using the tip of my rod to give it a variety of natural twitching actions to increase its appeal on this bright sunny day.
Suddenly at the next cast, it went for my lure and I could enjoy hearing my reel scream for abit, while watching the Garfish jump out of the water several times!
For a place like St. John’s island where the rocks are waiting to “eat” your jigs, I totally recommend Palms BitArts Degree sinking minnow to not only target the top-water feeders, but also groupers at shallow areas of this beautiful uninhabited island.
